Lim Yong Hew, Group Managing Director

Lim Yong Hew, a Malaysian aged 62, is our founder and Group Managing Director of the Solution Group. He was appointed to the Board on 28 May 2005. He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering (Hons) majoring in Control and Instrumentation from Salford University in 1982. He started his career with George Kent Malaysia as a Project Engineer. He then joined Foxboro Malaysia in 1985 as a Sales Engineer. He left the company to establish Solution Engineering Sdn Bhd (SESB) in 1988 where he took on the position of Managing Director. With his extensive business experience, Mr Lim has been the main driving force of the Group. His responsibilities cover various aspects of the Group’s overall business development and corporate strategy.

Dato’ Dr. Mohd Nazlee Kamal, PhD., Chief Executive Officer

Dato' Dr. Mohd Nazlee Kamal, PhD., a Malaysian aged 59, is our Deputy Group Managing Director and he was appointed to the Board on 29 August 2018. He is also serving as Chief Executive Officer of Solution Biologics Sdn Bhd. and a Director of Solution Bioforce Sdn. Bhd. and He holds a PhD. in Chemical Engineering from University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia, a M.App.Sc in Biotechnology from University of New South Wales. Australia, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Oregon State University, Oregon, USA.

Dato' Dr.Nazlee has over 30 years of diverse industry background in strategy, biotechnology and life sciences which including 15 years of executive management experience. He possesses strong expertise in both technical and business aspects in these areas. With the recognition of his wide industrial leadership, he played a pivotal role in the formulation of Malaysia’s National Biotechnology Policy in 2005. Using his exceptional expertise and network, he provided consultation to various organisations and small medium enterprises within the industry.

Dato' Dr.Nazlee served as a CEO of Bioeconomy Corporation (previously known as BiotechCorp) from 2011-2016. He played a leadership role in the rebranding and repositioning of the company to facilitate the nation’s trajectory into the World Bio-economy arena. He was also invited to serve on the Global Bio-economy Council in Berlin from 2015-2017.

Dato' Dr.Nazlee has a wealth of experience encompassing marketing and technical portfolio with multinational companies such as Amersham Biosciences, Sartorius and B. Braun Biotech. In addition, he hold directorships in a number of private companies.

Dato' Dr.Nazlee served 10 years of tenure as a lecturer at the University of Technology Malaysia (1986-1996). He was responsible for the development of Bioprocess Engineering programme at the University. He invented the “External Spinfilter” now marketed by Sartorius BBI Systems (Patent No. PI9701436MY-131798-A).

He has assumed leadership roles and also served on the boards of MAGIC, FRIM, NIBM, Bioeconomy Corporation (previously known as Biotech Corporation), Inno Biologics, and Inno Bio Ventures. He was also the Chairman of Bio-Xcell. He is currently serving as Chairman for Industry Advisory Board, Faculty of Science, Monash University since 2016.

He does not have any family relationship with any directors and/or major shareholders of the Company. He has no conflict of interest with the Company and has no convictions for any offences within the past ten years.

Mark Lorrigan, Director

Mark is the CEO of Bioarc Limited, an Australian Cannabis Company focussed on the development of cultivars both therapeutically and agronomically. He has been in this role the past three years and has shaped the company’s strategy and business plan including key acquisitions and the development of its first commercial projects.

Prior to Bioarc he has had more than 30 years international experience in the advertising, branding, media and marketing world.

He has a rich history of bringing together diverse teams and uniting them to deliver results. And has advised and worked with major brands and platforms such as BMW, Petronas, Moet Hennessy, IKEA, English Premier League, MotoGP and Formula One to name but a few.

Through this experience Mark has developed a knowledge and understanding of IP and license agreements in addition to an acute and assured awareness of brand development, marketing, distribution and sales.

Healthcare projects include retail pharmacy and most recently with Jayex Healthcare Limited, working extensively on a Digital Pharmacy Project and a range of Patient Engagement Tools.

He is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Jay Padasian, Director

Jay’s a U.K.-qualified, Registered Pharmacist with over 25 years’ experience within the Healthcare and Bio Industries. Starting his career leading local and regional subsidiaries of established MNCs such as B.Braun and Covidien, Jay went on to help Malaysia’s efforts to build the Healthcare Bio Industry as Senior Vice President, Healthcare at Malaysian Bioeconomy Corporation.

Jay consults internationally in both the Government and Private Sectors on a broad-based area including Healthcare Bio Industry; Vaccines; Medical Technology; Industry Hub Development & Site Selection. He has sat on various Technical Advisory Committees providing Subject Matter Expertise to various Malaysian Government Ministries and Agencies as well as contributing as a Member of the Board of Studies for two leading Malaysian Research Universities.

He was a Steering Committee Member for National Key Economic Area (NKEA) Healthcare and was a Cleared Government Advisor for the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA). On the onset of Covid-19 pandemic, Jay was appointed a member of the National Experts Group Technology Development (EGTD) for Vaccines. His involvement in Bioarc stems from the emerging clinical evidence supporting the use of medicinal cannabis in the management and treatment of various diseases and medical conditions.
